One cable slipping off its drum groove is enough to jam a door mid-cycle or send a panel crashing at an angle. We fix the cable and check why it slipped in the first place.
A single-cable fix often means a second failure soon after. We explain the pair-replacement logic upfront.
A cable can slip its groove repeatedly if the drum itself is damaged, which we check before calling the job done.
This repair sits close to stored spring energy, which is exactly why licensed handling matters here too.
We carry the common cable lengths and gauges for most residential door sizes.
Specialized service lines covering the full range of Garage Door Cable Repair calls we take, backed by flat-rate pricing and a written warranty.
A snapped cable leaves the door hanging unevenly on the remaining side, an unsafe condition we treat as priority.
Catching a fraying cable early avoids the sudden, uneven drop that comes with a full snap.
If the cable keeps slipping off the drum, we look for a bent drum or misaligned track causing the repeat issue.
We match new drums to the correct diameter for your door's cable length requirements.
Correcting an uneven lean means addressing the cable, checking the spring pair, and confirming the track is still square.
A quick description of the lean or jam gets the right cable gauge loaded before arrival.
Cable stock on the truck means most calls avoid a second trip for parts.
We check both cables and the drums together, then quote a flat price covering the full fix.
We verify the door hangs and travels evenly before calling the repair complete.
“Door was hanging at an angle after a cable snapped. They replaced both cables and it's perfectly level now.”
“Caught the fraying cable during a routine call before it actually snapped. Appreciated the heads-up.”
“Door was jamming mid-cycle for weeks. Cable and drum issue, fixed in one visit.”
An uneven hang points to a broken cable, a failed spring, or a bent track pulling the panel off-square.
Replacing just one often leads to a second failure soon after. We're upfront about that tradeoff.
This is a genuine safety hazard, especially with people or vehicles near the door opening.
Repeated slipping points to a drum issue rather than just the cable itself, which we'll inspect.
Pricing depends on cable length, gauge, and whether the drums also need replacing, confirmed as a flat number before work starts.
Standard cable and drum stock means same-visit repair is the norm, not the exception.
Same-day dispatch, upfront pricing, and a written warranty on every visit.
